Dutch restaurant owners have drawn fire from some diners after they replaced Israel with Palestine in a map of the Middle East at their Arabic eatery in Rotterdam. They say it?s for culinary, not political reasons.

The owners of Le Souq, a restaurant at Rotterdam?s Market Hall whose main specialty is Middle Eastern cuisine, were ask to explain their actions by a local politician, who noticed the absence of Israel on the restaurant's placemat and its replacement with Palestine instead.

Jan Hutten, regional chairman of the right-wing Christian Democratic Appeal party, said it left a bad taste in his mouth.

?A new country in the Middle East? In Rotterdam?s Market Hall they are straightforward about Israel?s position. Bizarre,? Hutten wrote on Twitter, posting a photo of the placemat.

In response, Le Souq?s owner, Nadia Afkir, told the Algemeen Dagblad daily that ?our restaurant only deals with the flavors of the Middle East,? adding that a major source of the restaurant?s inspiration comes from ?the ancient Palestinian kitchen, the producer of the delicious maglubi and the kunefe dishes that we are passionate about.?

She stated that the placemat only ?names countries producing the dishes and products with which we work? and said the caf? did not expect the map would be taken from a political point of view.

Maps of the Middle East with Israel left unmarked on them have caused controversy before.

In 2013 the world?s biggest publisher of children?s titles left Israel off the maps in a children?s story book, replacing it with Lebanon, one mother had noticed.

?I wanted to show my son where we lived in the Middle East, but I didn?t see Israel on the map; instead it said Jordan,? Adina Golombek, a Jerusalem resident who moved to Israel from Canada, told the Times of Israel.

?Thea Stilton and the Blue Scarab Hunt,? published by Scholastic Inc, is an adventure story of the Thea Sisters, five teenage mice invited to Egypt to participate in an archeological excavation. Since the story takes place in the Middle East, a map is provided at the beginning of the book. It highlights modern Egypt and its neighboring countries ? all except for Israel. While Sudan, Libya, and Saudi Arabia are clearly marked, Israel is fully covered by Jordan with the territories of both states evenly colored in red.

So what? The nme Palestine now is a sin or what? Typical gospel. Shaytan wants to be worshipped and cannot tolerate that a name he forbids people shoyld dare to use it.

As to politics, it came to Palestine the day the British Empire decided to poison the Middle East.

"Jan Hutten, regional chairman of the right-wing Christian Democratic Appeal party"

The Politicians that were upset are a bunch of European conservative Christian loosers. Rest assured, they do not contribute anything of value to Europe. Their religion is dead in Europe so now all they can do is to support Israel as a Jewish homeland. Garbage European conservative Christians that do nothing but to support ethnic-cleansing of Palestinians. The land is mentioned in their bible which is why they support Israel. In Sweden these morons do not have so much support. Sadly these conservatives use democracy and secularism to sugarcoat their own ideology. It is the only way they can get support. Their religion and they themselves are a contradiction towards civilization, democracy, secularism and science. There is this political party called the 'Christian Democrats' whom most of its members are a supporter of Israel. Sweden is a very unique secular and democratic country. For our society to go forward the best thing we can do is to bann religious people from forming their own political parties whether it be Muslims, Christians or Jews. These Christian Democrats will only turn Sweden into a conservative country which will destroy the country. Instead of science being given attention, religion will be given more attention which is a pretty bad id?a in my opinion. We can not call ourselves secular if we continue to allow these religious dickheads to form their own political party. Christianity has never done anything good for Sweden. It only ruined Sweden. Swedens ancient language, Urnordiska, was wiped out by Christian nutjobs who wanted to replace the alphabets with latin. In any case the Christian Democrats is a middle-finger to Sweden. Christianity is a joke and so are these European conservatives. Ironically they use democracy as a way to sugarcoat Israel despite the fact that their own religion has a long history of opposing both secularism and democracy especially in Europe. Moronic primitive Dutch politicians that is all they are.

I have noticed one thing that those Europeans who stand with Palestine are European intellectuals while those Europeans who oppose Palestine are European conservatives whom are primitive. Some are not really Europeans they are probaly Immigrants from South-Asia. An example is those worthless British Pakistanis that are ruining Britain by kissing the arse of the conservatives just so they can promote their 'moderate' Islam.

Anyway I fully support Palestine and I'd love to eat at that resturant! Palestinian cuisine is always great. Today not only is Palestinian land being stolen by a bunch of European Jews (who have no culture of their own) but even Palestinian culture. Oh dear.
