what is the best translation of the Quran according to you? I have seen some people here pointing at some translation errors in some of the more popular translations. also, It would help if you know how to read classical arabic. Even if you dont have any recommendations, feel free to share what translation that you are reading or have read. I'm curious as to what translation that most of you here are reading.

As a start better read the quran on your own language first, after you had the basic understanding, you can go deep into the word per word translation.

I've been reading many quran translation, even though it contain error mostly because of lack of word list, and also because a word on some language had same pronounciation but had different meaning.
At first I thought I'll be neutral by replacing my emotional attachment, what then happened was, I switch my side from the other extreme to the other one. I had no idea what is neutrality.

It depends on the aim.

If you want an easy to read translation in English, to get you started, understand the basics etc then use free-minds, abdel haleem, Muhammad asad or if online use www.quranix.net

All translations are imperfect. Use tools such as www.StudyQuran.org to help as you read if you want to study further.
All information in my posts is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should seek knowledge and verify: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11. My articles

Take any translation as alphabets of Quran; or take the entire verses of the whole 'Quran-in-Arabic' as merely 'the root words' of the Wisdom of Allah such as Alif, Laam, Meem, Raa, Saad, Ya, Tha, Seen, Nun, Qaf, Ha, Ain and so on. Therefore seek its Revelation only from Allah - no tafseers, no arguments with fellow brothers.

Believe in Allah, believe in the Last Day, believe in Malayika, believe in the Books, and believe in the Prophets and believe in the messengers wholesomely is sufficient for the Revelation to descend on our hearts.
Quran reading is useless unless we decisively stick to righteousness in our lives, at least to an extent possible. Based on such status Allah Guides, in such a way  http://foolproofcure.net/index.aspx   that we do not transgress after receiving His Mercy.

I consider the translations of Muhammed Asad and Muhammed Ali as two of the best translations of the Quran.

You can read or download the translation of Muhammed Ali from this link:
